We ran our first charter fishing trips of the 2009 season this past week with some good early season spring action off the port of Sheboygan. We ended our first day with 8 fish and missed another 6 that we had on. One of the pictures is six of the eight fish which included a lake trout and a good size king salmon with the rest being brown trout. We fished 10 to 18 feet of water north of town. Water temperatures ranged from 42 to 45 degrees. Stinger spoons on the dipsys and downriggers while Dave's Ka-Boom crankbaits on the boards worked well. The weather changed on us a few times from rainy to windy and back to sunny conditions, but glow baits in white, green or red seem to work the best.

We have had a couple boats in the water since the middle of April and will put the rest of the fleet in by the end of the month. We are anticipating a busy charter fishing season here at Dumper Dan Charters along with good solid salmon and trout fishing. Please do not hesitate to call or e-mail me with your date selections as soon as you can for better availability. Watch for more updated fishing reports and pictures on this thread though-out the spring season.

Good luck fishing to everyone and have a safe and enjoyable season. We look forward to having you onboard Wisconsin's proven leader in the charter fishing industry; Dumper Dan's Charter Fishing Fleet of Sheboygan.
